ABEAST

We're all about the natural world; its animals, plants, and general greatness. We aim to join up the two campuses of Riseholme and Brayford, and also aiming to make the facilities that Riseholme has to offer more accessible to everyone with an interest. We organise seminars from visitors and trips to relating to behaviour and ecology.
Socials are fortnightly and alternate between town and Riseholme.

History Society

The History Society aims to promote awareness of places of historical interest, both locally and further afield. The society will be inviting guest speakers to discuss historical issues that relate to the unit coursework and that will help with the history course units, as well as other topics of historical interest. The society it is not based solely on academia, with socials on a regular basis

African Caribbean Society

The ACS exists for people who believe we are all one race, and that colour of skin is not and should not be an issue. The society welcomes any open minded students who want to get involved and find out more about African Caribbean culture. For a number of years the ACS has also been in involved in the production of acclaimed R ’n’ B and multicultural events including Black History Month Celebrations.

International Students

The International Students Society is a chance for international students to meet and socialise whilst finding out about each others cultures and Lincoln itself. The society meets regularly and holds many events throughout the year, as well as acting as a great support for international based courses.

Alternative Beliefs and Spirituality Society

We're a society dedicated to bringing together members of various faiths, belief systems, spiritual paths and those interested in learning more. We meet on a regular basis for varied discussions, socials and other special events. We have members from such a large variety of backgrounds that it never gets boring and we love seeing new faces. Get in touch and introduce yourself, you won't regret it!

Islamic

Islamic Society in Lincoln Uni.

The Islamic Society provides support for followers of Islam amongst the student body, ensuring their needs are catered for on campus. The society is also keen to encourage awareness and understanding of the Islamic faith, for both the Muslim community and Non-Islamic students.

Anime (JAMS)

The Anime society (aka JAMS) is there for anyone interested in drawing, watching or learning about Anime. The society holds regular film nights and discussions in the main academic building.

Ludology

The Ludololy Society exists for anyone studying on a related course or who simply has an interest in computer, console or hand held games. The society meets regularly to play and discuss video-gaming in all forms and hopes to attend demonstration shows and festivals this year.

Architechture Society. (Lin.Con)

Lin.Con is THE society for any Architecture/ID/DEM student. The society connects students within the School of Architecture and others with the same interest to develop their insight into the architectural and design industry. We run weekly lectures given by local and national architecture and design practices, who in the past have included guests from Fosters and Partners. Lomographic Society

Lomography is a new photographic style that incoporates cheap, unpredictable cameras, saturated spontaneous images and most importantly FILM! The Lomographic Society we celebrate the fun behind film photography and will show you how to stop thinking and start shooting! We'll help new members to get started as well as help practioners experiment and develop their styles.
So come along and enjoy photography, friends and fisheyes!

Cheerleaders

The Lincoln Jets Cheerleading squad is a fifty strong male and female team. As well as cheering on the university’s many sports teams, the Jets themselves compete regionally and nationally with some of the squad even going to compete and train in Texas. Cheerleading is a mixture of stunting, gymnastics and dance so if any of those aspects appeal to you then the Jets could be your new society. Priding themselves on a party hard, train harder ethic, the Jets can usually be found in the Engine Shed doing one or the other.
Martial Arts
Lincoln Martial Arts Society (LMAS)
The Lincoln Martial Arts Society (LMAS) provides the opportunity to get a taste of numerous martial arts.
Members are introduced to various types of fighting arts such as Muai Thai, Ninjutsu, Boxing, Karate or Jujitsu. Seminars are carried out by acknowledged instructors to ensure safety and professionalism.
The society also offers regular physical training sessions and social events such as nights out and trips to official competitions. Everybody is welcome and no previous martial arts experience is required.

Christian Union

The main aim of the Christian Union is to spread the gospel amongst students whilst also explaining that Christianity is not an oppressive religion. The society also looks to help members strengthen themselves and be part of a community of Christianity within their university. The CU also holds many society and social events throughout the year
Management (CMISC) 
This is the first Chartered Management Institute Student Chapter (CMISC) in the country. We liaise closely with local and regional levels of the CMI to help provide a solid foundation for students to champion the art of management. We do this through practical and interactive events designed to develop students potential and ultimately improving students employability. Helping to create high quality managers and leaders for the future.

CIMSC

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Student Chapter (CIMSC) is a great society to join if you are interested in marketing. The society gives students the opportunity to have a practical side to their degree as well as offering a great way to network with students and also professional business people. CIMSC has two levels of membership; active members, who have the opportunity to practice marketing, advertising, public relations and event organising skills, while silent members are rewarded with amazing trips at discounted prices. In the past the society has organised successful trips to Meadowhall and Cadburys World.
Orchestra Society

The University of Lincoln Orchestra (ULO) society was founded in 2008, becoming the first musical body within the university. It gives students and staff, the opportunity to develop and improve their musical ability by playing in a mixture of large and small music groups allowing them to meet other music lovers around campus. Lead by professional cellist and conductor, Chris Dunn, is open to both beginners and advanced players and we hope to develop affiliated groups such as jazz and swing bands as well as a string orchestra.

Complementary Medicine
This Society is open to all students of the Complimentary Medicine department. It is also open to anyone who has an interest in complimentary medicine. This society regularly attends workshops and field trips with their last trip to the body works exhibition being a huge success.

Dance

This Society’s aim is to learn, perform and compete in a variety of styles of dances, including, hip hop, jazz, modern, contemporary and street. Although there are people that have been assigned as leaders, everybody gets involved with choreography and has their input. Even though there are different classes, with different styles, the dance society always comes together in force for socials and performances including the very successful ‘Dance Fest’.
. Psychology
This society is open to all psychology and non-psychology students. The society offers a great support to the course but also a way to meet fellow students through a number of social events, from trips to parties

Drama

The Drama Society is a vibrant and active society within the University of Lincoln and beyond, having put on shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The society has also performed two well-loved pantomimes at the University and other venues around Lincoln. If you love to act or generally perform, this society is for you.

RAG

RAG committee pick 4 charities’ that they then support for the year. This year we supported, help the aged, the rainbow trust, RSPCA, and NSPCC. and through the year we raised nearly £6000 to give to them. We did this through a number of events, The RAG society works with the RAG committee to offer a social side for tour members we organise social events giving the RAG committee a chance to relax and meet new people and other RAG’s.

Epeonian Society

The Epeonian Society is a creative society which seeks to improve its members skills in oratory, discussion and public speaking.  We run weekly debate nights and will soon be starting a literature discussion group.  We also publish the notorious creative magazine Ziggurat - issue 2 to be published before the end of term.

Sci Fi Society

The Sci-Fi Society offers a range of activities including cinema trips, laser quest excursions and an annual film marathon. The society meets regularly to watch movies and participate in role-play games. Over the course of this year, the Sci-Fi Society hopes to expand by attending anime orientated events and, as such, they welcome any students with an interest in Science Fiction, Fantasy or Anime.

Equestrian Society

We are the University's only Equestrian Society offering every member the chance to ride no matter what there experience. From our lessons at Poppyfields, catering from complete beginners to advanced riders, offering lessons, jumping and cross country to our lessons at Riseholme (2012 Olympic Equestrian Training ground),  offering those advanced riders, progressive lessons and advanced competitions in showjumping and Dressage.

We also offer trips and fun riding days throughout the year, with Society member discounts Cant ride every week? No matter, come and ride with us when you can. We meet every monday from 6pm - 7:30pm in the Tower Bars on Brayford Campus
and from 8pm in the R Bar, Riseholme campus.

St. John Ambulance (LINKS)

Across the country, there are groups of higher education students in St John Ambulance known as LINKS. Historically, the name “LINKS” dates back to when it was a link between the St John Ambulance pre-university groups and the post university groups. As a student in St John Ambulance, there are many opportunities available to you such as first aid training, socialising and volunteering.

   

Stage and Screen Musicals.

Stage and Screen Musicals Society is for anyone who relay loves to watch and discuss musicals. Mainly we watch them once a week and then talk about them after. We watch a wide range of musicals, from Rogers and Hammerstein to more modern Rock Musicals. Now and then we will go on trips to see live musicals at near by theatres. We are a new society so please come and join us and help make us a successful group.
 

Forensic Science Society

ULFSS - Uni of Lincoln Forensic Science Society

The Forensic Science Society (ULFSS) exists to introduce students to one another, spill the gossip about lecturers, provide top tips for workload and exams and, naturally, have a good time. Fully supported by the Department of Forensic and Biomedical Sciences, the society is dedicated to the students with the added ability to make a difference to the way the course is run. The society hosts a number of fundraisers and runs regular trips, for which ULFSS membership entitles a discount.

Trampolining

The Trampoline Society boasts a wide range of membership from those who have never been on a trampoline before to those who have been bouncing all their lives; the latter of which have the chance to compete in the BUCS championships. The society is all about having fun, learning new skills and hosts regular social evenings and events, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet people whilst participating in a sport which is a little different.

Gymnastics

The primary aim of the Gymnastics Society is to make the sport available to the students at the University of Lincoln, from those who already have experience in gymnastics to people who wish to try it for the first time. The lessons aim to teach people basic gymnastics and will progress through to more difficult techniques and eventually competition routines. The society hopes to enter a team in the British Gymnastics Veterans competition and BUCS (British University College Sports) this year.

ULC

The University of Lincoln Corporation is an intra mural sports and social society that aims to give students of all abilities the chance to play a variety of sport just for fun. The society also has many social gatherings and trips for their members, allowing students to socialise and meet new people. You can involve yourself as much or little as you want to, it’s totally up to you whether it’s sports that interest you, the socialising or both.
