As a mature or postgraduate student at the University of Lincoln, you are cordially invited to join the Mature and Postgraduate Student Group (MAPS). By working in close association with the Students’ Union and the Graduate School, MAPS is committed to fostering a positive and vibrant sense of community for all mature and postgraduate students and to providing a variety of opportunities for MAPS members and their families to meet and socialise. MAPS is co-ordinated by five elected Committee Members: Chair, Organiser, Vice-Chair (Postgraduate Forum), Vice-Chair (Mature Students Forum) and Social Secretary. By working closely alongside you, your Committee is here to improve representation, communication and access across the University, to provide a meaningful, influential and inclusive voice for the entire MAPS student body, and to help ensure that your learning experience at the University of Lincoln is as enjoyable as possible.
You are not obliged to become a member, as we are committed to representing all mature and postgraduate students, but joining couldn’t be easier – and it’s free! Just search under ‘Community’ on the University’s Blackboard site and click on the appropriate link.
We hold an informal MAPS Coffee meeting every Wednesday during term-time in the Atrium (Main Building) between 12pm and 2pm – just look out for the table with the sunflower. A MAPS Committee member will be there most weeks and it’s a great opportunity to meet, introduce ourselves and chat with like-minded people. You will also be invited to attend regular Open Meetings, where we can air and discuss any issues which may arise while you are studying at Lincoln.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to email us on maps@lincoln.ac.uk.
