IAN BROWN ANNOUNCES UK TOUR FOR SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER
NEW ALBUM COMING SOON

In anticipation of his new album, due for an Autumn release, Ian Brown has announced a mammoth 22 date tour of the UK for September and October.

Brown’s 5th studio album, the follow-up to 2004’s Solarized, has the working title The World is Yours and is being recorded at London’s RAK studios with Ex Smiths bassist Andy Rourke and Big Arm’s and Happy Mondays’ Paul Ryder. New tracks in the works include Goodbye to the Badlands and Some Folks Are Hollow.

The mighty Mancunian recently performed a short set at this year’s Manchester Versus Cancer event at MEN Arena. Songs included Ian Brown classics F.E.A.R., Golden Gaze, Dolphins Were Monkeys and two more new songs – On Track and Goodbye To The Broken. The finale of the show was a storming rendition of I Am the Resurrection with Brown joined on stage by Mani and Andy Rourke on bass.

Of the new album Brown says “The NME (Godlike Genius) award and all that gave me the pick up and the confidence to really go for it now – so far it’s sounding like this LP’s going to dwarf the others. I know everyone always says their latest is their best, but I really feel that this time. I’ve really gone all out with the lyrics and melodies. I’m trying to make my own What’s Going On. It’s going to be something really beautiful, with violins, dead sharp beats, socially conscious lyrics – this time around, I’m trying to bury everything I’ve ever done.”
